Start of Semester
Please answer each survey question in a few thoughtful sentences.
1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
I envision art in my classroom as a way to allow my students to be creative and unique from one another. Being creative may not be something that everyone enjoys, but for some students it is much easier for them to express themselves through art instead of writing or talking. I think art would be an easy concept to integrate into many different lessons in one way or another.
2. What do you know about integrated learning / integration?
I have already seen a snap shot of what integration is from the start of this semester and it goes much more in depth than anything I have thought about integration in the classroom before.
3. Rate your comfort level in making art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
I really enjoy being crafty and creative, but I would in no means say that I am good at it.
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
I can't say that I have spent much time analyzing or talking about art very in depth.

End of Semester
Now that you have [almost] completed the course, please answer each survey question once more in a few thoughtful sentences.
1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
I envision myself using a lot of different aspects of art in my classroom! So of the studios we did, I would never think of in an art sense (different collages, graphic design). There are endless possibilities that I can use from this semester along with different subject areas to enhance my students understanding.
2. What do you know about integrated learning / integration?
I know a lot more about are integration than I did at the start of the semester! There is a lot more about art than craft making that can be integrated into the classroom. I have learned how to effectively use art along with other subjects areas and concepts to work together as one unit.
3. Rate your comfort level in making art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
I feel a lot more comfortable now that I have been introduced to more materials and tools that can be used for art in the classroom! No more just using crayons and markers to draw pictures... :)
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
The VTS activities have really strengthened my comfort level in analyzing art. I always though there was a right or wrong answer and that you had to use specific art terms when analyzing pieces, but you don't at all!
